Bliss Retreat - A Journey to serenity

The sun finally shone for us radiating instant good vibes on the Bliss Retreat day run in collaboration with the beautiful Wild Space.
Nestled in the picturesque countryside of Sussex, the Bliss Retreat offered our guests a sanctuary for those seeking to rejuvenate their mind, body, and spirit.
Sam our host for the event started the day with Tibetan yoga designed to gently awaken the nervous system. From there she transitioned into an energising vinyasa sequence, blending breath with mindful movement before easing into restorative postures for deep release and relaxation.
By 12.30 the real world seemed like a distant memory as newly acquainted guests floated across to the field kitchen for a nourishing lunch and hedgerow tea's. The veggie and vegan curry's laid on by Sam and Tom were truly amazing and lunch gave us all an opportunity to chat, chill and connect.
Things were running at such a blissful pace, guests needed reminding to take advantage of the woodland spa. This is such a cool space (the country boy in me loves this place). Tom fired up the horse box sauna and campfire and as the guests chilled between sauna and hammock I felt almost guilty filling up the ice baths for what was to come.
After plenty of time to chill, it was my turn to work the Wim magic. We started by reminding ourselves of the carbon / oxygen exchange we share with nature before settling onto some breathing mechanics, protocols and then 4 rounds of rejuvenating Wim Hof method breathwork.
Now an ice bath might sound a little harsh here after hours of breathwork, yoga, sauna's and hammocks but this is where the magic happens, the cascade of happy hormones and the sense of achievement gained by a guided ice bath is the perfect send off and these guys were more than up for it. Possibly encouraged by how quickly the ice was melting but we did mange to get the water down to 9 degrees, so cold enough.
More Bliss Day Retreats with The Wild Space will follow in the Autumn.
